In 2026, the Czech Republic, with its metaphorical image of a country on the shores of the ocean of world literature, will be the guest of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
The Frankfurt Book Festival is one of the most prestigious book festivals in the world, attended by Nobel Prize winners and important political, social and cultural figures. Hosting the fair will allow the Czech Republic to show the world its authors, literary prizes, festivals, audiobooks, literary podcasts, booksellers or to highlight the role of translators, to support foreign bohemians and to educate new ones.
In addition to classic Czech literature, the literature of contemporary authors will come to the fore and contribute to the development of culture.
