The nominees of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Awards 2024 have been announced and there are 9 Czech buildings among them.

Since 2001 the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture – the Mies van der Rohe Award has been awarded to excellent architectural works built across Europe. This prestigious accolade additionally underscores the positive impact of architecture on sustainable development and the overall wellbeing of citizens.

Over 300 individual projects were nominated this year, which you can later see in the catalogue and travelling exhibition presenting the winners selected by the jury – the Prize Winner, the Special Mention, the Finalists and the Shortlisted Works.

Czech Republic is represented by 9 nominees: Lázně Bělohrad Town Hall, IGI Vratislavice – Library and Community Center, Reconstruction of pavilion Z, Low-threshold club, Kloboucká lesní Company Headquarters, Research Library of South Bohemia Extension, Gočár’s Gallery in Pardubice, Kunsthalle, Plato Contemporary Art Gallery.
